Packs a punch, worth the read

This is a pretty short book, but one which packs a pretty big punch. The gist is that you need to train, or more properly, retrain your own brain to make yourself more success-oriented. The training involved is removing all negative thoughts and feelings from your mind. The ‘Trainwashing’ bit comes from the paradigm that you must do this repeatedly, following the methods set out in this book, hence the term, ‘train’. The negativity supposedly comes from what the author refers to as the brainwashing we all receive from society and authority as we grow up and live our daily lives. So far, so good with the theory.

But the approach actually does achieve results, because the very act of thinking about negativity can spur you on to greater things. A set of daily rules to be practiced and adhered too and a self belief that you really do control your own destiny, if you learn to ignore the negativity inherent in the world, and wash it out of your way of thinking.

I’m not usually a fan of these self-help books. They usually pop out the same old cod psychology, but this is a little diamond of a book…really! The approaches suggested by the author are straightforward and easily do-able. Self motivation is a powerful thing. This book helps affirm that.

Fabulous Antidote

I was a bit wary of this book as these popular psychology books usually leave me a little cold, but this one has some very good ideas. Michaelson Williams manages to sum up how the world manages to infiltrate everyone’s brain with negativity, and he puts forward an antidote to this subtle societal control as the pages pass by. By training your brain to wash away all negative thoughts, you allow yourself a much greater clarity of vision. You have the cognitive surplus to deal with life in a positive way. The 99 percentile (as he calls it) consists of the vast majority of the population who allow themselves to become conditioned by society to fall in line.

The one percent are the real movers and shakers in the world, and this book aims to help the reader make the shift from the ninety nine into the one. I don’t know how realistic this is, but the daily training steps look very realistic and common sensible. Certainly a change from the usual `make yourself a superstar in just a week’ type of self-help book, and a very thought-provoking read. You really can do anything you want to do if you really want it badly enough.

This book helps you on your way to realizing your goals in life, by taking control back from on line social media sites and rubbish television programs you don’t really need to watch. Once you make this switch and start to take back control of your time, things will start to happen for you… according to the author. And he’s probably right!

5.0 out of 5 stars, Achieve your dreams

The message I take from this short guide is that in order to achieve my dreams, it is imperative that I trainwash myself. Trainwashing is the opposite of our daily negative brain washing. We are constantly told that we can’t do X and Y, or that Z is beyond our capabilities; Michaelson Williams is here to explain how this harmful conditioning can be unlearned.

The other self-help literature that comes to mind, by way of comparison, is John Bradshaw’s “Healing the shame that binds you”. Bradshaw, like Williams, teaches the importance of shedding internalized guilt and all the cruft of lifelong negativity. The main difference between the two books is that “Trainwashing” is supposed to improve a person’s ambition and acumen, more than his emotional health, although there is some overlap.

I enjoyed the book and would recommend it. I’ve been following the 20 daily rules of trainwashing, and although it’s too early to say how much this has improved my mental game, at least it’s fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars, Train Yourself to think for YOURSELF- Trainwashing is a Great Find

Do not let the length of this book fool you. For such a short book it is packed with useful information. Michaelson Williams poses an interesting idea. That the 99% of the worlds population has been brainwashed into conformity, and then you can re-train your brain to have more clarity of vision, and to wash away the negative thought patterns reinforced by today’s media an teaching.

That the world wealth and political power is controlled by the wealth of the 1% is not a secret, the real movers and shakers in this world are there because of their nonconformists thoughts, and actions Williams teaches us how to become a part of that number. And although it will not happen overnight, I do believe that it could actually happen in a week or two, but it is designed to help you re-train your brain so that you think this is the perfect book to present to your high school graduate or keep for yourself. Buy it and become the master of your own destiny not just another person marching to someone else’s pre-programmed drumbeat.
